Black Bean Brownies

The healthiest, yummiest brownie you will ever have. Don’t let the beans freak you out.


You just need to rinse a can of these bad boys. (I soaked 2/3 cup of dry black beans overnight, then cooked for an hour.) Put these in a blender.

Add a 1/2 cup of oats.


A couple heaping tablespoons of cocoa.


Throw in a 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Then add 1/4 cup of coconut or vegetable oil.

Here comes the best part.


Pour in a half cup of pure maple syrup. No processed sugars needed! Honey or agave would work great, too. Lastly put in two teaspoons of vanilla extract.

Blend it all up. I like to leave a little texture to the batter. Stir in 2/3 cups of chocolate chips. Yummm.


Spray a little bit of cooking oil in an 8×8 pan. I top this batter off with even more chocolate chips. Bake for 18ish minutes at 350 degrees.


We love these fresh from the oven. Then we keep them in the fridge… this makes them almost fudge-like!
