I’ve been inspired to journal our tried & true recipes. We try to eat 100% whole foods, but sometimes we don’t. I try to cook every meal completely from scratch, but sometimes I don’t. I wish I could say we are fully organic, but we aren’t.
Every time I get in the kitchen and begin cooking, which is at least 3 times a day, I want to photo-blog it all. I love cooking. I love cooking healthy foods for my family.
Most women have heard of the proverbial lady of whom wives and mothers should aspire to become. I don’t want to be a super mom. I don’t want to be a trophy wife. I want to be the lady who can wake up in the chill of the night to wash diapers and sheets without grumbling. I want to be the wife who can leave pajamas on the floor at dawn, and prepare her hands to work. Our pastor briefly admonished the women of the church to long to be this woman in the 31st proverb. You can listen to the full sermon here, and I encourage you to do so. We are wired to be nurturing, charming, & festive. I’ve also been reading Rachel Jankovic’s latest book, Fit to Burst. She encourages mothers to do all the mundane without complaints, to give your most when you feel completely empty. This new blog, really is more of a journal for our family. A journal to document our favorite meals, our favorite photos, and anything we love. I hope I stay far from wanting to be the perfect Pinterest mother and wife, and by His grace become the biblical woman I am called to be.
Just to clarify, I do not write my own recipes. I will always credit the recipe, whether I’ve followed it exactly or made my own adaptations to it. But for today, I will leave you with just a simple photograph.
